1.5″ Type B Roof Deck
Type B Roof Deck is 1.5″ deep. Also known as wide rib, this structural metal roof deck provides a support surface for various types of roofing materials. 1.5" B deck's wider rib profile allows for more insulation to be installed.
Description
Roof deck products act alone in transferring horizontal and vertical loads into the building frame. Roof Deck does not work compositely with other building materials.

Available Gauges:
Available Finshes:
Galvanized G-60 zinc coated steel is the standard in the deck industry.
Galvanized G-90 is typically specified for exterior applications or project specific needs.
PTD or primer painted is an impermanent, provisional coating and is gray on top and bottom.
Deck Options:
Hanger Tabs:
Hanger tabs are designed for the support of ceilings and you should consult your engineer for individual allowable loads on single hanger tabs.
1.5 B Acoustical Roof Deck:
1.5 B Roof Deck is available as acoustical decking. Acoustical B Deck provides sound reduction where the under side of the deck is exposed to the interior. Our acoustical B deck is made by perforating the flutes of a standard 1.5 B deck profile.
1.5 B Cellular Deck:
Type B cellular deck is utilized in exposed ceiling areas where a flat bottom deck is desired for aesthetic purposes and can be combined with or without acoustical perforations in the flutes of the deck.

Construction and maintenance loads:
SPANS are governed by a maximum stress of 26 ksi (180 MPa) and a maximum deflection of L/240 with a 200-pound (0.89 kN) concentrated load at midspan on a 1'-0" (300mm) wide section of deck. If the designer contemplates loads of greater magnitude, spans shall be decreased or the thickness of the steel deck increased as required. All loads shall be distributed by appropriate means to prevent damage to the completed assembly during construction.
B Deck Attachment Pattern:
Your project Engineer will determine your attachment requirements for your design loads, building code and project requirements. The following standard 1.5 B Deck attachment pattern has been provided as a minimum recommendation for the product specified. The attachments should be made to from deck to support, deck sidelap to deck sidelap and seck to perimeter supports.
