    FAQs:

What is 1.5" Type A Roof Deck?

1.5" Type A Roof Deck, often referred to as Type A or Narrow Rib, is a low-strength metal roof deck profile with closely spaced ribs at 1″. It is considered outdated and is primarily used today for patching or matching existing structures built with this profile.

What gauges are available for 1.5" Type A Roof Deck?

We stock 16ga, 18ga, 20ga, and 22ga coils. The gauge selection affects the deck load capabilities. Confirm your gauge requirements or ask us for recommendations.

What finishes are offered for 1.5" Type A Roof Deck?

Standard finishes for Type A deck include G-60 galvanized and G-90 galvanized. Due to its limited market use today, prime-painted availability is limited. Learn more about metal deck finishes here.

What factors influence the cost of 1.5" Type A Roof Deck?

Factors affecting cost include current steel pricing, quantity ordered, gauge and finish selection, delivery location, and schedule. Be sure to account for waste when estimating. Contact your nearest branch for accurate pricing.

What lead times should I expect for 1.5" Type A Roof Deck?
      • Stock lengths are generally available same-day or next-day for pickup or delivery.
      • Custom-cut lengths in standard gauges (22–16) and finishes (G-60, G-90 or PTD) typically require 3–6 weeks. As this is an older profile -- we limit production runs due to a tedious tooling change over process.
Can you custom-cut 1.5" Type A Roof Deck to the length I need?

Yes. We regularly custom-cut deck to specified lengths to reduce waste and speed up installation.

How can I save money when buying 1.5" Type A Roof Deck?

To reduce cost, provide as much lead time as possible, use standard gauges and finishes, remain flexible on final specifications, and ask about availability of surplus or secondary materials.

Do you carry surplus or "secondary" 1.5" Type A Roof Deck at reduced prices?

Yes, we often have discounted surplus or secondary material with minor imperfections. Contact us to check current inventory.
