Description
Weld washers per the SDI construction manual are required when welding metal thicknesses equal to or less than 24 gauge, however are not recommend for steel deck heavier or thicker than 22ga. Weld washers used on 22ga or thicker steel may actually create a lower quality weld due to heat sinking and are not to be used or specified.
